Unplastisized Vinyl also known as uPVC
What is the difference between Unplastisized Poly Vinyl Chloride (uPVC) and Plasticized Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC)?
- UPVC doesn’t contain any plasticizers while PVC does. UPVC is a much more rigid material than PVC, which tends to bend and flex. PVC although not as strong as UPVC, is still strong enough to be used in construction industry for PVC windows and siding.
- UPVC is used for the production of quality windows, plumbing and draining. PVC is still used for the production of some lower grade vinyl windows, pipes, cable insulation, clothes and toys.
- UPVC doesn’t contain phthalates, PVC does contain them. Phthalates are a group of chemicals used to make plastics more flexible and harder to break. They are often called plasticizers. Some phthalates are used as solvents (dissolving agents) for other materials.

- UPVC doesn’t contain BPA, PVC contains BPA.
- UPVC is much more durable than PVC.
- UPVC vinyl windows simply look better, are stronger, and last longer than PVC vinyl windows.
OKNA produces their windows exclusively from uPVC Unplastisized PVC. OKNA windows are therefore stronger, more rigid, and last much longer than a typical PVC vinyl window.
